Event details
I will begin with a review of the forest formula, which allows to renormalise individual UV-divergent Feynman integrals. Extensions of the forest formula can be used to treat also IR-divergences. One such extension is the so-called R*-operation, which applies to Euclidean Feynman integrals. It is useful mostly for simplifying the calculation of anomalous dimensions. I will give an overview of recent applications, focusing on Mellin moments of splitting functions at N4LO and a certain dimension-6 CP-violating gluonic operator, called Weinberg's operator, which appears in the SM EFT. In the final part of the seminar I will discuss yet another generalisation of the forest formula which I have developed to deal with IR-divergences in real emission corrections in perturbative QCD.
About Particle Physics Theory seminars
The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
