#### Looking at QED through the glasses of Very Special Relativity

- Event time: 2:00pm
- Event date: 27th May 2020
- Speaker: Alex Soto Villaroel (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile)

### Event details

The proposal of Cohen and Glashow (*Phys.Rev.Lett.* 97 (2006) 021601), that the universe could be invariant under a subgroup of the Lorentz group instead of the full group, offers a solution for the neutrino mass without introducing new particles. In this talk we will review the main features of the model and how the non-local operators present in VSR theories modify QED in 1+1, 2+1 and 3+1 dimensions.

### About Particle Physics Theory seminars

The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
