Reweighting for Topology at High Temperatures

  • Event time: 5:00pm

Event details

Motivated by its importance for the cosmology of axions (a dark matter candidate), we examine how to compute the topological susceptibility of QCD

nonperturbatively on the lattice at temperatures well above the QCD transition temperature.  In this regime topological structures are rare in the QCD

thermal ensemble, and reweighting methods are needed to sample them effectively.  We introduce the subject and show how to carry out such

reweighted computations in lattice QCD.
