Event details

The large $N_\text{c}$ limit of QCD constitutes a simplification of the theory that preserves most of its non-perturbative features. This limit has proven to have predictive power in the non-perturbative regime, and is used by many phenomenological approaches to hadron physics. However, it fails to reproduce some experimental results. In this talk I will present some recent lattice results for pion-pion scattering in a theory with $N_\text{f}=4$ degenerate quark flavors and varying number of colors, focusing on two channels that do not include vacuum diagrams. I will discuss how they can be matched to chiral perturbation theory to extract the large $N_\text{c}$ scaling of the relevant low-energy couplings, and I compare them to previous lattice and phenomenological determinations.
