QCD+QED simulations with C* boundary conditions

Particle Physics Theory seminar

QCD+QED simulations with C* boundary conditions

  • Event time: 2:00pm until 3:00pm
  • Event date: 8th June 2022
  • Speaker: Jens Lücke (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin)
  • Location: Higgs Centre Seminar Room, Room 4305, and Zoom

Event details

After a short motivation for the inclusion of QED into lattice QCD simulations, I will introduce C* boundary conditions and discuss the setup and goals of our simulations. The choice of input parameters and the line of constant physics will be discussed, followed by an introduction to mass reweighting in the context of tuning. In particular I will focus on features which distinguish our fully dynamical QCD+QED simulations from pure QCD ones. For instance finite volume effects, isospin breaking corrections and the sign of the fermionic Pfaffian will be discussed.

About Particle Physics Theory seminars

The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
