How phage and bacteria coexist
Bacteriophages are central to microbial ecosystems for balancing bacterial populations and promoting evolution by applying strong selection pressure. Here we consider the aspects that modulate phage-bacteria interaction in a way that naturally promotes their coexistence, focusing on phages' ability to reshuffle optimal bacterial growth and the effect of spatial refuges against unlimited phage predation.
This is a weekly series of webinars on theoretical aspects of Condensed Matter, Biological, and Statistical Physics. It is open to anyone interested in research in these areas..
