Event details
A major systematic uncertainty of predictions from lattice QCD arises due to the continuum extrapolation. Use of Symanzik Effective Field Theory allows to describe the asymptotic lattice spacing dependence of quantities obtained on the lattice. This puts continuum extrapolations and the corresponding error estimates on more solid grounds and may yield some insight on how to improve the lattice setup. I will discuss some results obtained for spectral quantities with Wilson or Ginsparg-Wilson quarks including some generalisations. Eventually I will give an outlook of what is currently being done and what remains to be done (at the very least).

About Particle Physics Theory seminars
The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
