Factorization and resummation at next-to-leading power for amplitudes and cross sections

Event details

Title:  Factorization and resummation at next-to-leading power for amplitudes and cross sections

Abstract: In recent years we have learned a lot about the structure of QCD amplitudes and cross sections once one goes beyond the eikonal approximation. In this talk I will review this progress, addressing in particular the issue of predictive power, factorization and resummation of NLP effects. I will also show the impact of such effects on Higgs and Drell-Yan cross sections.

About Particle Physics Theory seminars

The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
