The structure of quark mass corrections in gg->HH production amplitudes

Event details

The leading and next-to-leading order QCD predictions for Higgs boson pair production at hadron colliders suffer from a large mass renormalisation scheme uncertainty related to the choice of the top quark mass. In this talk, I will discuss how the Method of Regions and factorisation in SCET can be utilised to understand the dependence of the result on the value of the intermediate quark mass and gain control over the sizeable logarithmic mass corrections in the gg->HH amplitudes at leading and next-to-leading powers at high-energy.

About Particle Physics Theory seminars

The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
