Title: Semileptonic Tau Decays Within and Beyond the Standard Model

Abstract: This talk summarizes the phenomenology of hadronic tau decays. They involve the hadronization of electroweak quark currents, leading to
a very rich continuum spectrum, sensitive to strong interaction effects and potentially also to physics Beyond the Standard Model (BSM). Starting from general aspects valid for all decay modes, I will review the phenomenology of the most studied channels and then discuss the inclusive case. Finally, from an agnostic perspective, I will explore how hadronic tau decays might differ if BSM physics is present.

About Particle Physics Theory seminars

The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
