Visiting the School of Physics and Astronomy

Open Days

Open Days are open to anyone who is considering undertaking undergraduate studies at the University of Edinburgh. These events are a great opportunity to learn more about the degree programmes we offer, visit the campus, and meet with staff and current students. The next Open Day will run between 09.30am - 3.30pm on the following dates:

  • Monday 10 June 2019
  • Saturday 21 September 2019
  • Saturday 5 October 2019

Offer Holder Day

These days are open to those who hold a conditional or unconditional offer to study with us from September 2020.  During these events you will have the opportunity to meet with academic staff and current students, learn more about the degree structure and courses, and take a tour of some of the teaching and accommodation facilities. Each on-campus event starts at 10am and finishes at around 4pm.

Individual visits

Can't attend our Offer Holder Day or the Open Days? Get in touch with us by emailing undergraduate [at] and we will try to organise a visit to the School for you on a different day.

Online events at the School of Physics and Astronomy

These interactive sessions are open to anyone who is considering studying here, or has already received an offer to study with us. 

Events include a presentation from a member of academic staff within the School, and a Question & Answer session. Presentations include information on living in Edinburgh, degree structures and courses, accommodations, and student services. Each session has a duration of around 1 hour and is hosted on Blackboard’s Collaborate Ultra.  All you need is a computer and an internet connection.  You do not need a web cam or microphone as questions can be asked via a text chat box.
