Societies

With over 280 societies at the University of Edinburgh, finding a community with like-minded people is easy. There are many multicultural and diverse societies dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe and welcome space for their members. A few notable ones can be found below, however many more can be discovered through EUSA's Find a Society tool.

The University of Edinburgh's LGBTQ+ Society.

The School also has its own EqualiTea Group for LGBT+ staff, LGBT+ postgraduate students, and allies. We meet up one Wednesday afternoon a month for tea and coffee and to chat.EqualiTea is the Physics and Astronomy group for LGBT+ staff, LGBT+ postgraduate students, and allies. A society dedicated to promoting gender equality in STEM as well as networking, opportunities and a few socials to get to know like-minded students

Edinburgh University’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Society (WellSoc) is a fully inclusive, student-led informal support network focused on mental wellbeing. 

ESN Edinburgh is a society dedicated to enhancing the experiences of international and exchange students during their time in Edinburgh.

Hoppers is a network for women and non-binary people in technology.  Whether you are studying a degree in conjunction with the School of Informatics, or are just interested in the field, they welcome all.
