PhD projects in Physics Education Research

About Physics Education Research

Physics Education Research (PER) involves the systematic investigation of how to learn and teach physics and astronomy most effectively. It incorporates both quantitative and qualitative research methods, with a variety of investigative strategies, in both classroom and laboratory settings. PER is discipline-based educational research: it takes place within physics departments, and is done by physicists for physicists and students of physics. The Edinburgh Physics Education Research Group (EdPER) is one of the UK's longest-established PER research groups; we have broad interests throughout the discipline.
