I will speak about thermal fluctuations and in particular about experimental set-ups I developed in order to make measurements in simple fluids and binary mixtures. These show a second order phase transition between a homogeneous state and a heterogeneous one. Therefore, many interesting phenomena are observed, such as the Critical Casimir Force and biased Brownian motion. From Atomic Force Microscopy to optical tweezers, the building of these experimental set-ups allowed us to make very encouraging measurements of the critical Casimir interaction potential.
